Exploring Thailand: A Hostel Stay in Bangkok
Exploring Thailand can be an exciting and thrilling experience, especially for those unfamiliar with the country. From the wild nightlife on Calzone Road to the delicious street food vendors, Bangkok has something for everyone. This article will explore my experience staying at a budget-friendly hostel and exploring Bangkok.
Upon arriving in Bangkok, I decided to try staying at a hostel for the first time. I found one that cost only $10 per night and even included free breakfast. After settling into my room, I ventured out to explore Calzone Road, which is renowned for its vibrant nightlife. To my surprise, there were fewer people that evening, creating a more relaxed atmosphere. However, I still couldn't resist the temptation of the nearby street food vendors.
To get around from the Ekamai area, you can either take the BTS (Bangkok Mass Transit System) or use the Grab motorbike service.
Keep in mind that during peak hours, traffic can be quite heavy, so it's advisable to plan your trips accordingly. It took me 28 days to feel comfortable enough to use the BTS system as a newcomer, as it can be a bit intimidating at first.
During my journey through Thailand, I encountered various streets, each offering a different vibe. Cow Song Rose, for example, was racier compared to other streets, while some had a more local neighborhood atmosphere, with street food stands offering omelettes, pork kebabs, chicken skewers, and more. Throughout my visit, I made sure to enjoy the nightlife while staying safe, following general precautions, such as avoiding excessive drinking and not venturing too far from populated areas late at night.
Lastly, one unexpected highlight was witnessing an alligator casually strolling among people on one of these streets. It was a surreal and unforgettable moment, highlighting the unique and unpredictable experiences Thailand has to offer.
Tasting Delicious Chicken Kebabs in Thailand
Exploring Bangkok in Thailand has been a great experience so far! One of the highlights of my trip has been tasting the delicious chicken kebabs. They are sometimes referred to as chicken shawarmas and originate from Dubai. I decided to order two chicken kebabs for 10 bahts, which is roughly 30 cents in US dollars.
The taste was wonderful! The texture was perfect – crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. I also tried some unfamiliar green juice that tasted like a mix between apple and lime juices; it was quite refreshing!
After eating breakfast in the morning, I decided to check out some affordable hostels with free breakfast in the Khao Sung area. After searching online for a few minutes, I stumbled upon one with excellent reviews and good amenities; it had everything from free Wi-Fi to laundry services at an affordable price point. The staff was friendly and accommodating, making me feel right at home.
Overall, my experience with tasting delicious chicken kebabs in Thailand exceeded all expectations – five stars! It's safe to say that I will definitely be returning here soon.
Bottom Line
Exploring Bangkok, Thailand has been an astonishing experience. From the wild nightlife of Calzone Road to delicious street food, Bangkok offers something for everyone.
